Macarena and Drake’s wedding took place at Villa De Palmas Gardens in San Juan, Texas—a breathtaking venue surrounded by lush greenery and native South Texas foliage. This enchanting space captures the essence of a tropical oasis with its vibrant palms, winding garden paths, and tranquil outdoor setting that feels both intimate and grand. It’s the kind of venue where every corner seems to tell its own story, offering the perfect backdrop for a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

The Details

Alaa Marzouk captured every thoughtful detail of Maki and Drake’s day with such a refined eye, bringing their earth-toned vision to life in every frame. Their theme embraced soft, neutral hues—woven seamlessly through the florals, stationery, and fashion. The invitation suite featured a sage green envelope lined with a delicate foliage motif, a subtle nod to their love of nature and the serene palette that carried throughout the day. Maki’s bouquet was a study in understated elegance, with white roses, Lisianthus, Moth Orchids, tulips, and soft Amaranth paired with sage greenery from Cantu's Special Events. Her gown, designed by Manuel Tiscareño, exuded modern romance, perfectly complemented by her crystal-buckled Badgley Mischka heels. With the expert guidance of Jenika from Events by Fenika, every element came together effortlessly—organic, timeless, and beautifully personal.

Getting Ready

Maki prepared for her walk down the aisle surrounded by loved ones, who helped her slip into her stunning Manuel Tiscareño gown, and assisted with the final buttons and delicate adjustments that brought the look together. Her detachable bridal sleeves added a romantic, modern touch—graceful and ethereal, much like the day itself. Each detail, from the glimmer of her earrings to her chic bouquet she carried in her hands, brought her one step closer to the celebration ahead.

Moments Before the "I Do"

There’s something undeniably special about the quiet anticipation before the ceremony—the moment when time seems to slow just enough to let the emotions settle in. Maki and Drake’s first look was filled with pure sweetness and sincerity. As they saw each other for the first time, their faces lit up with joy, laughter, and a few happy tears. In this tranquil intimate moment before their ceremony before their family and friends, Maki and Drake shared their personal vows of forever with one another. The first step together in their new life together.

The Reception

Maki and Drake’s reception unfolded beneath the open sky, surrounded by the lush gardens of Villa De Palmas and the soft hum of celebration in the air. Each table was elegantly adorned with floating candles set in glass cylinders that were intermindled through floral arrangements of neutral roses, delicate thistles, stock flowers, and fresh greenery added texture and timeless charm to the scene. The combination of organic florals and soft lights from the candles and hanging lights brought a refined simplicity to the space—effortlessly blending elegance with the tranquil beauty of the outdoors. As the evening continued, laughter and music filled the air, wrapping the night in a warmth that perfectly echoed Maki and Drake’s love story.

The Cake

Maki and Drake’s wedding cake was a vision of modern elegance—an all-white creation that stood tall as the centerpiece of their outdoor reception. The design featured abstract fondant ruffles that cascaded down each tier, creating the look of soft, organic petals. Set on a wooden pedestal and surrounded by floating candles, the cake seemed to glow under the evening lights, echoing the natural beauty and romance of the garden setting.

On the inside, their cake was as delightful as its design—a lovely combination of Elderflower Cake with layers of Bavarian Cream and Grapefruit Curd, all enveloped in Italian Meringue Buttercream beneath a smooth fondant exterior. The flavors offered a balance of floral sweetness and bright citrus, creating a taste that was as refined as it was refreshing. Despite an unexpected downpour that softened the fondant into gentle waves, the cake remained every bit as beautiful—its texture taking on a romantic, windswept charm. Seeing Maki and Drake share smiles and laughter during their cake cutting, completely unfazed by the rain, was a true testament to the joy of the day and the heart behind their celebration.
